After the most high profile beef since 2Pac and Biggie, Jay-Z and Nas seemingly ended things a few months ago when Jay Z squashed it. It came after Jay Z responded to Nas’ “Ether” with his radio freestyle that has been dubbed “Super Ugly.” Jay felt he took things too far on that track and said the beef was dead. Apparently not.
While Jay has kept quite since then but Nas is starting back up again. He is currently on tour promoting “Stillmatic” and that is where the rumblings are coming from. Word is from a lot of people who have seen the show (in various cities), that Nas is still taking shots at Jay Z. The latest incident that has been reported is that at his show in LA last week, he played the “Hard Knock Life” beat and then proceeded to bring Jay Z posters on stage and tear them up.
He is also been taking shots at R Kelly and Russell Simmons during his shows. He has even gone as far as to remove the R Kelly sample from “K-I-S-S-I-N-G” and replace it with a Sade sample. I’m sure Jay Z has heard about this by now, and in the words of Ice Cube…”oh yeah, it ain’t over muthafucka.”
