JAY-Z has made his long-awaited return to Instagram to promote his upcoming film, The Book of Clarence, which is set to arrive early next year.
On Tuesday (August 29), Hov relaunched his IG account and posted the trailer to the Jeymes Samuel-directed blockbuster hitting theaters nationwide on January 12, 2024.

Executive produced by the Brooklyn mogul, LaKeith Stanfield leads the cast in the biblical film as a messiah inspired by Jesus with co-stars such as rapper Teyana Taylor, J Cyler, Benedict Cumberbatch, James McAvoy, Anna Diop and more.

“This story is about a young man who finds his faith through love and through wanting to become somebody in the world, which is the story of everybody,” JAY-Z told Vanity Fair.
“Everyone wants to find love and everyone wants to leave this place having accomplished something, having left their mark that they’ve been here and hopefully affected the world in a positive way.”
Hov said he hopes people don’t “immediately just focus on the religious aspect of it and not the human story,” adding: “My fear is that people don’t allow that arc to take place, and are immediately judging.”
Jigga gushed about his longtime collaborator Jeymes Samuel and his vision for the film after teaming up in 2021 for The Harder They Fall.
“[Samuel] has this fearlessness to him,” Hov testified. “He’s very confident, but it’s not off-putting. I have a thousand stories to tell, so that’s why I can kind of lay Easter eggs in each one.”

New tunes are also said to be on the way from JAY-Z, who will be contributing original music to The Book of Clarence‘s soundtrack.
While Tuesday’s post technically counts as Jay’s first made to IG, the Roc Nation boss previously joined the Gram to promote his The Harder They Fall Western flick in 2021 before deactivating his account — which boasts 55,000 followers as of press time — less than a day later.
