New Orleans, Louisiana emcee Jay Electronica has revealed the tracklist to his debut album, Act II: Patents Of Nobility. The work has no release date, but is expected to arrive later this year on Roc Nation/Sony Records.
Act II features Jay-Z, Kanye West and Diddy, along with late French singer/songwriter Serge Gainsbourg.

This isn’t the original album. He’s been saying that the album was completed in interviews as far back as late ’10 early ’11. So obviously Jay rejected the original just as he did with Cole, which as label head is his right. Remember signed artists don’t get much of the cut from album sales. They get their money upfront in the form of an advance. The label recoups through album sales and a slew of other fee’s applied to the artist. Point being, Jay made an investment so he wants to make the biggest profit as possible. That’s where all these features come in I’m sure there weren’t this many on the original. So no it’s not going to be what it had the potential to be. Just as Cole was forced to come up with Work Out, Can’t Get Enough, Nobody’s Perfect(We all know those tracks aren’t Cole at his purist), Expect Elect to have a couple tracks that make you say,”ahhh shit this nigga sellin out.” But the reality of it is simple, if you don’t give the label head what he wants, what he feels will be profitable, your shit will never see the light of day. Oh and just how are you gonna pay him back that fat advance he gave you??

By the way, albums get delayed not because of the title of a song or two, matter of fact, labels like controversy and will push until they get blowback they can’t deal with. They do it because they determine the album will flop and that’s usually because the singles are falling flat at radio or worse, they are not happy with what the artist turned in. I am not sure if they’ve started pushing singles yet, so is the label pushing the album back or is it Jay himself on some BS?
