Macklemore Says He “Robbed” Kendrick Lamar At Grammys In Text Message
This year’s Grammy Awards led to the month’s most-viewed news story. Macklemore, who won four Grammy Awards at this year’s event, said Kendrick Lamar was robbed at the award show in a story published January 27. Mack released a screen shot of a text message he says he sent the Top Dawg emcee after the award show. “You got robbed,” Macklemore said in a text message. “I wanted you to win. You should have. It’s weird and sucks that I robbed you.” Macklemore posted the screen shots of his text messages and the following caption:
My text to Kendrick after the show. He deserved best rap album… I’m honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys. But in that category, he should have won IMO. And that’s taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC it’s proper respect.. With that being said, thank you to the fans. You’re the reason we were on that stage tonight. Drake Calls Kendrick Lamar’s “good kid, m.A.A.d. city” The Last Great Concept Album
Drake and Kendrick Lamar made some of the most-viewed headlines of last year and some of that spilled into the new year.Vibe released outtakes from its interview with Drake where Kendrick Lamar was mentioned and this story, which was published January 1 by HipHopDX. “I feel like the music that I write is utilized in life,” Drake said at the time. “It would be tough for me to go in conceptual storytelling. The last great concept album was [Kendrick Lamar’s]good kid, m.A.A.d city—still obviously true to his life but very conceptual. Very specific stories that need to be told. I always say hats off to that album. That album’s incredible, what an undertaking. For me, I would never want to be restricted to that.”
During the interview, Drake also said that his Nothing Was The Same album was a different type of concept album. “I feel like I just made a concept album about a kid from Toronto that’s on,” he said. “I’m not good at telling fictional stories, so I would never be able to do that. There are rappers that are good at telling stories about people that aren’t themselves. There are people that have vast imaginations to go and make up a story just to achieve a point. I draw off life experiences.”

50 Cent Addresses G-Unit Reunion & Relationship With Game
50 Cent made one of January’s most-viewed stories when he addressed talk regarding a G-Unit reunion, which HipHopDX covered January 11. During the initial interview, which was published by Complex, 50 explained how he feels about the G-Unit crew and its brand. “G-Unit is something that I built, with the momentum of 50 Cent and the music I created,” 50 Cent said. “They had the opportunities. The object was to grow it outside from the people that was around me, but people change and won’t stay the same. As relationships grow older, everyone is off into their own little things. ”
50 Cent, who also said that he would “never work with Game” again, didn’t completely rule out working with Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo.
“Maybe there’s a point that we’ll come back together and make a disc,” he said.

I think that you guys both should have won both best rappers becuse at least ou guys support and belive in eachother, unlike other poeople they wouldent have been so supportive and they wouldent think what you guys think, if i where you guys i would have said that none of you guys shuld get a grammmy award or both of you guys gt them, because its not the other persons fault that they werent as goof as the other person and they tried hard, harder then most people usally, people whould get mad at eachother but know they fell bad for eachoher other then some people in the wourld.
