Ja Rule says that the NFL two-game suspension for Ray Rice should have been steeper following the TMZ release of the full video featuring the football star striking his then-fiancee, now-wife, Janay Palmer.
“Damn Ray Rice NOT COOL he should get the LIFE ban,” Rule says on Twitter.
The incident reportedly took place February 15 in Atlantic City’s Revel Hotel.
In the video, Rice strikes Palmer and she hits her head on a rail before falling to the ground.
Following the release of the full tape today (September 8), the Baltimore Ravens announced that they would be terminating Rice’s contract. The NFL subsequently has announced that Rice has been suspended indefinitely.
Initially, Rice received a two-game suspension for the incident. The NFL says it did not see the elevator video until now, though a former employee of the now defunct hotel says the league saw the footage prior to giving him the initial penalty.
