The last thing you will need for the “Ear Plug Series” is ear plugs. M-Boogie and his label Ill Boogie Records will be releasing a series if four albums from some of the undergrounds finest. The first album from the series is now available, it comes from the supergroup, the Demigodz.
“The Godz Must Be Crazy” is the essence of hardcore hip hop from the crew that boasts the vast talents of Apathy, Celph-Titled, Rise, Louis Logic, Esoteric and others. Other albums on the list are EP’s from Yesh “Into Fresh Things,” Mars Ill “Blue Collar Sessions,” and Emanon “Anon & On.” Be sure not to sleep on Mars Ill’s 2001 release “Raw Material,” dope album.
M-Boogie (check out his “Laid In Full” compilations) had this to say about the series, “I had a list of favorite underground acts that I had always wanted to work with. For one reason or another however, a committed long term relationship with any of them was unlikely. So, rather than just releasing a bunch of random one off projects, the idea of linking them together made much more sense. Since I couldn’t call any of the artist’s my own, I came up with a series that I could. Given the state of the sluggish economy and the even more sluggish music industry, my expectations were conservative to say the least. For the same reasoning I’ve released every project on my label, it’s merely something I’d buy for my own collection.”
