Ill-A-Mental Hits T.O. In July

Comfort Zone will host an onslaught of hip hop shows beginning in July and spanning nearly a month. Every Friday, beginning on July 26th and ending on August 16th, The Comfort Zone in Toronto will bring you some underground sounds.

The first show features Detroit acts Frank’n Dank and Phat Cat. If the names sound familiar it is because they appeared on Jay Dee’s highly acclaimed “Welcome To Detroit.” They will be joined by Strict Flow and DJ Jacksploitation. This is their first show in Canada so make sure y’all show love.

Show number two on August 9th goes from rookies to veterans. None other than Masta Ace will be rocking the mic. A member if the legendary Juice Crew (along with Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Marley Marl and Craig G), Ace made a comeback last year after a 6 year hiatus. “Disposable Arts” made many critics top ten lists last year (including mine). Ace will be joined by Marvel, Nish Rawks and DJ Hangman.

Finishing off Ill-A-Mental will be Camp Lo. The duo of Sonny Cheeba and Emerald Suede have been quite since releasing their highly acclaimed debut in 1997, “Uptown Saturday Night.” Camp Lo will share the stage with Brassmunk and DJ Fase. Camp Lo will be promoting their new album, “Let’s Do It Again.”
