After dropping his successful album “We Invented the Remix”, P.Diddy also known as Sean Combs is sitting high in the fashion industry as well as music. With his name brand clothing line Sean John, P.Diddy has been creating clothing that can be worn in the office or the club.
At this year’s 2002 Urban Fashion Awards held at the Avery Fisher Hall in New York, Sean John won three awards in the category of Menswear Designer, Advertising Campaign of the Year and Male Urban Fashion Aficionado of the year. Jennifer Lopez was also on hand to receive an award for New Designer of the Year for her one-year-old clothing line, J-Lo.
Other winner’s at the Fashion Awards were Baby Phat for Womenswear Design and Female Denim Design, Male Denim Designer went to Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Wear and Magazine/ Publication of the Year went to VIBE Magazine. Special Awards went to Russell Simmons and Karl Kani respectfully. Simmons received the Urban Fashion Humanitarian Award (Phat Farm) and Kani received the Urban Fashion Pioneer Award (Karl Kani). Performers for the show included Foxy Brown, Carl Thomas, Lady May, Blu Cantrell and Snoop Dogg.
