Canadian emcee Classified and rap group Grand Analog will both be featured as the only Hip Hop acts at the third annual Canadian Blast! music festival put on by the College Music Journal. The event will take place next month in New York City, showcasing the talents of five Canadian acts who hope to make a mark in the U.S. market.

Rapper Classified has had his share of performances in the U.S. He toured with Nas [click to read], Wu-Tang, The Game [click to read], and others, while collaborating with Detroit emcee Royce Da 5’9″ [click to read]on his tenth album, Boy-Cott-In the Industry. In addition to writing lyrics, he’s also respected as a producer. Group Grand Analog, on the other hand, find their niche in the area of rap and rock. Dubbed “rap-n-rollers,” their music is also well known up north.

Canadian Blast! is set to happen on October 22 in New York City.
