Urban singer Mike Posner [click to read] has found a label home with J Records. Currently a senior at Duke University, Posner’s vocals and production skills have been featured on projects with Wale [click to read], Big Sean, and producer Don Cannon [click to read].
Excited by his new career move, the Michigan-native stated, “I can’t think of a better way to start my senior year of college than by signing a record deal with J Records. I’ve been hard at work in the studio all summer and can’t wait to share my music with the world.”
Previously independent, Posner will be a part of the same label that houses Jamie Foxx, and Alicia Keys. His debut album, The New Deal, which includes his group The Brain Trust, is expected to be released later this year.
In other news, Foreign Exchange (Phonte of Little Brother [click to read] and Nicolay [click to read]) will hit the road together for a fall tour. The initial eight date stint will begin in Colombia, Maryland on August 8, with other shows expected to be added throughout the coming months. Along their tour, accompany acts will include Darien Brockington, Carlitta Darlund and Yahzarah.
