For the second year in a row, Houston will honor ABN member Trae on July 22nd for his constant work within the community while also focusing on assisting at-risk youth. Trae The Truth is the first rapper to receive such an honor from their community. Last year, the ceremony consisted of a free family block party, which included members of the Houston City Council, local celebrities and nearly 10,000 patrons.

This year, much of the festivities will be kept the same to honor the Houston humanitarian. On Wednesday, July 22nd, from 3pm – 9pm at TSU Stadium, all will be welcome to congratulate and celebrate with Trae The Truth. Trae will be joined by members of the U.S. Congress, as well as local council members. In addition, the celebrity list will include, Bun B [click to read], Rick Ross, Gorilla Zoe [click to read], Mannie Fresh,Yung Joc, Hurricane Chris, Shawty Lo, Slim Thug [click to read], Blood Raw and USDA, J Dawg, Rich Boy, GS Boys, Rocko,Jay’ton and the whole ABN group, as well as Ron Artest.

During the celebration, the guest will be intrigued with the wide variety of family activities available, as live performances, train rides, pony rides, face painting and moonwalks with are included.  There will also be a HIV/STD testing site and free school supplies available to children. The press release stated, “Contests include a watch giveaway by renowned jeweler, King Johnny and rims courtesy of Texan Wire Wheels and local station 97.9 The Box will provide a live remote.” As the night concludes, a more adult-oriented celebration will be held at Roxy Nightclub.
