Boston Phoenix staff writer Chris Faraone has recently created a diss track aimed at the Young Cons, a “rap” duo that has gained much attention on Fox News for their conservative rhymes. Faraone, who goes by the rapper name Ol’ Dirty Needle, penned the record “Shooting An Elephant (Fuck The Young Cons)” in order to prevent Josh Riddle (Stiltz) and Dave Rufful (Serious C) from attempting to gain a legitimate career as politically-motivated emcees.
“The Young Cons are the worst rappers I’ve ever heard,” he said in a press statement. “Pundits have weighed in, and Bill Maher roughed them up a bit, but these pricks need a Timberland to the nuts. And who better to give it to them than a lefty who can’t rap either, and who knows their cracker-ass world first-hand.”
Faraone’s decision to address the Young Cons came about because he feels no established rapper would take the time to pen lyrics on a group that was “ignorant.” “No respectable rapper would ever address these chumps, no matter how ignorant the Young Cons‘ politics are.”
In other news, Vancouver, BC crew Swollen Members have officially signed their Battle Axe label to California-based Suburban Noize Records. The deal, which will effectively bring them more exposure stateside, will also give them an opportunity to release their Battle Axe Warriors debut along with their fifth studio album Armed To The Teeth.

Scheduled for release on August 25, Armed To The Teeth will be Swollen Members (Mad Child, Prevail, DJ Rob the Viking) latest album since 2006, while their Battle Axe Warriors album, which features Tre Nyce, is expected to drop sometime later this year.
Mad Child, impressed with Suburban Noize‘s offer, explained, “When we decided to make calls to interested labels and shop our new material, Suburban Noize was the first and last call I had to make. After talking with them, I knew right away they were the best home for us because they were already fans of our music. We respect what the label has done for artists like La Coka Nostra and Kottonmouth Kings and we know that they will do everything that they can to push Swollen Members on a global level.
