The discerning Hip Hop head might have noticed Tanya Morgan‘s [click to read] Von Pea and Donwill being credited on Thursday night’s edition of Comedy Central‘s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” As confirmed by a brief post on Okayplayer earlier Friday morning [click here], Von Pea and Donwill lent their talents behind the boards for a skit on the cultural differences between Iran and America.

“I didn’t even see it because I was outside, but it was fun,”Von noted of the skit, which featured a spoofed battle between comedian Jason “J Squared” Jones and Iranian emcee Hichkas. “Shout to Wyatt Cenac for asking us to do some music for a segment.”

Later Friday morning, Von explained how Hip Hop played a part and gave HipHopDX a quick run down of how the somewhat unlikely pairing of two thirds of Tanya Morgan and writers from “The Daily Show” took place.

Wyatt is a friend of ours and a fan so he asked Donwill if I could produce something for the show,” said Von. “It took about 20 back and forth emails and four different beats and rejections, but at the last minute I got it right and they loved it. Don recorded and produced the session with me.”
