As a pleasant surprise for his fans, 50 Cent [click to read] plans to drop a full street album next Tuesday (June16) on his website ThisIs50.com, according to MTV.
The project’s title is War Angel LP, with an emphasis on “LP.” “Creatively, this is not even a mixtape. That’s why I put LP next to it…My core audience will understand it immediately, and it’s written specifically for that,” the Queens rapper told MTV.
Known for his formidable mixtape work earlier in his career, 50 Cent says War Angel has the potential to be his best mixtape yet. “When you hear it, out of all the material I put on the street, you’re gonna say that’s the best body of work I put out in the mixtape circuit, period.” Adding Fifty, “The way the mood of music is right now, when they hear what this is, they’ll say, “That’s what we needed.’”
While 50 has spent the last few months jarring with rapper Rick Ross, he explained there will be no shots fired on this new project. “I think if you don’t identify when you’ve won a race, you’ll continue to run victory laps until you’ve exhausted yourself. There’s nothing else to win in the Rick Ross situation. There’s nothing else to do to that guy from my perspective.”
