Lil Wayne‘s Rebirth has been pushed back once again according Rap-Up.com. The album, which is said to be the rapper’s venture into the Rock genre, has been moved back six times, and was rumored at one point to be shelved [click to read]. First scheduled to release on April 7, the project is now confirmed for an August 18 release.
The consistent delays may potentially affect the release of Tha Carter IV, which is scheduled to release on Christmas.
In other news, Jay-Z could sign a deal with either Sony or Atlantic Records, according to HipHopGame.com. Making headlines last month after leaving Def Jam and buying out his contract for a whopping $5 million [click to read], Hov could be releasing the Blueprint 3 album on Sony or Atlantic, not solely on the Roc Nation label as previously suggested.
The album may see a September 11 release, which is the anniversary of the first Blueprint album.
