After a performance in Southern California at Paid Dues 2009, Crooked I wanted to let his fans know about his future projects.

Alongside an upcoming project with Royce Da 5’9″, Joe Budden & Joell Ortiz (together as Slaughterhouse), Crooked I is teaming up with King Tech (of the World Famous Wake Up Show) for Group Therapy, a project that Crook says is needed in today’s Hip Hop climate.

“We want the listeners to not be fans, but to be members of the group therapy session. Hip Hop has almost made us sick. We need to do something for people, who feel like we feel. With the current state of commercial hip hop. There’s always gonna be good music out there. You just gotta search a little harder for it, because the corporations aren’t putting that real good stuff to the forefront. We’re trying to make music for people who feel like us,”Crooked I tells HipHopDX exclusively.

“I was getting sick of the same formula, album after album, single after single. Just listening to all this stuff that people are pushing. It’s no disrespect to anyone, but I just can’t take this shit. They keep beating me over the head with the same shit. Me and Tech are in the same place in our career and we came together.

For those curious as to what to expect; can check out “If You Ever Hear Me” [click to listen] which acts as the first leak from Group Therapy.

Me and King Tech been working. We got together one day and knocked out seven songs. Our energy is flowing right now. This is brand new sound for me. A brand new sound for him. This feels like the lane I wanna be in right now,” the West Coast emcee explains.
