This weekend, Slaughterhouse, the new group that includes Royce da 5’9″, Joell Ortiz [click to read], Joe Budden [click to read], and Crooked I [click to read], made their West Coast debut. During Saturday’s Paid Dues Independent Hip-Hop Festival [click to read], the crew ran through a set that saw all members shine. After the show, we caught up with half of the group and were surprised by some compelling news for all fans of the crew and fans of Rock the Bells.

Rock the Bells, one of Hip-Hop’s most well-known festivals, is around the corner. However, the line-ups have not been announced as of yet. But, after hinting at being at this year’s festival, we had to ask if they would confirm their slot on this year’s line-up. With a smile and some details, here is what they said.

“It’s a possibility! It’s a possibility!”Crook said with a smile, trying not to say much. “We’re tryin’ to get it. You know what I mean? Tryin’ to get it!”

After studying the rosters that Rock the Bells generally throws out, many legendary names can usually be found performing, including Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, Nas, The Roots and Rage Against the Machine. So, how would they feel following in those footsteps?

“We’re goin’ hard! You know what I mean? We were raised by this creed: Go hard or go home. We’re goin’ hard! If we at Rock the Bells, beware niggas. Straight Up!”Crook told us.

Royce, standing beside his crew member, added to this.

“Listen, The Wu-Tang Clan…Man, those are some real big shoes to fill. We have to go hard. We can’t come behind A Tribe Called Quest and half-ass it. We cannot. We’re comin’ behind legends. We’re tryin’ to take it where they were able to take it. That’s it.”

The line-ups may not have been officially released yet, but it seems likely that Slaughterhouse will be on the bill. If so, they promise to let fans have a show.

For more on Slaughterhouse, stay tuned.
