Rapper Jay Electronica and singer Erykah Badu are the new parents of a baby girl as of yesterday (Feb. 1).
The rapper gave updates during the child birth via his Twitter page.
During the birth, Electronica updated, writing “I see the head. Full of hair.“

Upon the end of labor, he updated again, writing “Feb 1. 2009 my first child, my daughter was born at 1:30 pm exactly. Its the happiest day of my life.“
Badu and Electronica‘s relationship, though generally low-key and out of the public eye, the couple were the subject of controversy, as fans were critical of Badu having children by several rappers [click to read]. Badu also has children with Andre 3000 and The D.O.C.
It appears as though the controversy has not affected them, however, as Badu and Electronica appeared on the cover of the February 2008 issue of URB magazine.
