After an uneventful career beyond “Right Thurr,” DTP/Def Jam has given Chingy his walking papers, according to several reports. The St. Louis rapper rose to prominence with the help of Ludacris. When the pair had a falling out, Chingy went for self, releasing two lackluster albums on Capital. The men reunited for Chingy’s last album, 2007’s Hate it or Love it which also failed commercially. Chingy is no longer listed on Def Jam’s artist roster, confirming rumors that he’s no longer with the label.
BET has announced artist appearances for its annual New Year’s Eve line up. Notarized, the network’s top 100 countdown will feature appearances from Jazmine Sullivan, RayJ, Ace Hood, Jim Jones, JuelzSantana and other. The artists featured will help count down the videos and will also give their 2009 resolutions and most memorable moments from 2008. Notarized will run from 11:00a.m.-11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Following the top 100 will be 106 and Party from 11:00p.m.-1:00 a.m. Terrence and Rocsi will ring in the new year with performances from Plies, Jadakiss, Ace Hood and more.
