The FBI arrested DMX (government name, Earl Simmons) in Miami earlier today. As reported on HipHopDX, Judge Michael Kemp issued a bench warrant for DMX and raised his bond to $120,000 after the rapper failed to appear for his second appointed court hearing December 5 [click to read]. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio also added a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture and/or arrest of X shortly thereafter [click to read].

After a serious of professional, personal and legal troubles, DMX was reportedly in rehab attempting to get his career back on track. Simmons‘ attorney, Bradford Cohen, said his client was reportedly in a facility seeking treatment. It is not known why X was in Miami, which served as the scene for at least three of his previous arrests this year.

The Arizona Republic reports the rapper and actor will be held by FBI agents in Florida while sheriff’s deputies prepare to extradite him.
