Colin Munroe doesn’t feel he’s gotten all the attention he believes that he deserves, but by the end of the year, he hopes to change that.

To help prep listeners for the early 2009 release of his Universal
Motown
debut, Don’t Think Less Of Me, Munroe has just put the finishing
touches on a new mixtape. The 14-track offering, Colin Munroe Is The
Unsung Hero
, will hit the Internet Monday, December 1 via UnsungHero.tv as well as OnSmash.com.

It’s the persona that everyone takes on when they’re trying to make a
mark in the world,
Munroe told HipHopDX of the mixtape’s title.

Produced in partnership with Sickamore and The Famous Firm, the
Canadian rocker spent two months crafting the tape in Atlanta recording
studio of songwriter/producer Dallas Austin. Munroe handles most of the
production himself, with additional contributions from Austin and
Detroit beatsmith Black Milk. Cameo-wise, Unsung Hero features Wale [click to read],

Standout songs include a remake of Q-Tip‘s Dilla-produced “Fever” and a
remake of Bob Dylan‘s “Who Killed Davey Moore.” The mixtape’s first
single, “Will I Stay (Remix)” featuring Wale and Dallas Austin, will be
available November 19.

Munroe
‘s name started getting traction on the Internet when he released
a video on his MySpace page for “I Want Those Flashing Lights,” a
remake of Kanye West‘s “Flashing Lights.” Since then, he also handled
the chorus and backdrop for “Without U,” from Black Milk‘s new album
