Veteran TV personality Don Cornelius of Soul Train was arrested Friday for domestic violence charges. According to TMZ.com, the arrest took place on the famed Mulholland Drive.

After being apprehended, the 72 year-old was released in the early hours yesterday morning, after $50,000 bail was posted. The report did not state whether the victim was Cornelius‘ wife Victoria, but police reports indicate the victim did not require hospitalization.

Last month, emcee and producer Large Professor [click to read] spoke to HipHopDX about the significance Cornelius brought to the industry, referring to his career in the ’70s and ’80s.
