When David Banner [click to read] is given the mic, you can expect he has something thought provoking to say.
Stopping by BET’s Rap City, Banner voiced his opinions on the comments made from Jesse Jackson and Ice-T respectively, two stories that have captivated and likewise shocked the Hip Hop apparatus.
Though coming to Jesse Jackson’s defense about the “nuts” comment a couple weeks ago, David Banner felt the main goal right now is to put full backing behind Barack Obama, the man whom Jackson grilled off-camera. “We hurting man, and regardless of whether you agree with Barack or not, he’s 10 times better than anybody that I’ve seen out there.” Banner continued, “A lot of people even talk about the fact that maybe Obama lacks experience. I think that’s the blessing in this whole thing, cause the experienced ones are the ones who are killing us right now. So Jesse Jackson, focus ya crotch cuttin’ somewhere else man. Go somewhere, lay down and put some dirt on ya.”
Banner also offered up advice for Ice-T, who earlier this year made the remark that Soulja Boy “singlehandedly killed Hip Hop.” “If you don’t like Soulja Boy, go and help him. The boy nothing but 17 or 18 years old, go teach him…If you think there’s something better that a child can do in his music, don’t attack him on TV, don’t attack him on the radio, go and help the boy grow up.”
