SZA has teased a brand new single titled “Shirt” which comes alongside a video starring Atlanta‘s LaKeith Stanfield.
Slated to arrive on Friday (October 28), the Grammy-winning singer has unleashed a trailer for the visual, which finds SZA out to dinner with Stanfield and another guest.
“The color is light, light is energy. Energy’s everything,” she says in the Dave Meyers-directed clip.

Seemingly inspired by the deadly restaurant scene from 1998’s Belly, SZA’s conversation is interrupted by the third person at the table and after LaKeith slaps him, she lets the chopper sing before the clip cuts out.
The stars were out in SZA’s Instagram comment section as she received praise from a laundry list of fellow artists including BIA, Mike WiLL Made-It, Kali Uchis, Tinashe, Summer Walker, JT, Chance The Rapper, Justine Skye and more.
It’s been over five years since SZA’s acclaimed Ctrl album, but the wait for a new full-length project looks to be over. Ctrl made Billboard 200 history when the LP became the first by a Black woman artist to spend 280 consecutive weeks on the albums chart.
“Now this is wild af … thank y’all and thank GOD,” SZA wrote on social media in response to the feat.
TMZcaught up with SZA traveling through LAX earlier this month, where she revealed she’s recorded over 100 songs for the follow-up to her 2017 LP, which she has said should arrive very soon.
“Total? A hundred, maybe? Like, I don’t even know, actually,” she estimated on the amount of tracks she has in the stash. “Five years worth of material.”

When pressed about a potential release date, SZA remained tight-lipped on specifics but did let out that it should be released “any day” now.
