Another week has passed and we’re back with another edition of New Music Friday. There is something for everyone on this round-up of the best new singles from Hip Hop and R&B.

Kicking off this week’s edition of New Music Friday is rapper Central Cee with “One Up,” a follow-up to the viral “Doja” which was released in July. From there we head to Eastern Europe where Quality Control rapper Lil Yachty comes through with “Poland.”

Adding to the mix this week is $NOT with “SIMPLE,” “Therapy Pt. 2” from Robert Glasper and Mac Miller and Fredo Bang’s “Fearless.”

Central Cee – “One Up”

Central Cee is trending through “Doja,” and while it exploded across Twitter and TikTok and is in contention for song of the year, Cee has always had plenty of hits, dating back years to 2017’s “Over You.”

But since 2021, Cee has been one of the most prominent figures of U.K. Drill and rap as a whole. He’s blessing the fans yet again this year with surprise EP No More Leaks, led by single “One Up.”

Lil Yachty – “Poland”

Speaking of song-of-the-year contenders, Lil Yachty’s latest drop “Poland” was a certified cult-classic before it even hit DSPs.

Calling back to his early hits like “Minnesota” and “One Night,” his latest single thrives on its idiosyncratic nature; nobody could have made this song but Yachty.

$NOT – “SIMPLE”

Like his British counterpart, one of the biggest songs from rapper $NOT is also named “Doja” from his album Ethereal, released this past February. Like Central Cee, $NOT already had plenty of hits under his belt in “GOSHA,” “Tell Em” with Cochise and “BERETTA” with Wifisfuneral, but “Doja” crossed over into the mainstream.

His latest song, “SIMPLE” marks the first single $NOT has released since his August track “Immaculate.”

Gucci Mane f. Finesse2tymes – “Gucci Flow”

Pink Sweat$ & A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie – “Lay Up N Chill”

On first thought, “Lay Up N Chill” shouldn’t work. Pink Sweat$, known for his emotive and passionate singing on albums such as 2021’s excellent PINK PLANET and Bronx crooner A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie make for an odd duo. But their latest single works surprisingly well.
