Tsu Surf has been arrested in New Jersey on federal racketeering charges in connection with a DEA case, following a raid by authorities.

Tsu Surf, who was with a woman at the time of his arrest, barricaded himself inside a building in the 200 block of Wilkinson Avenue, before attempting to flee out the back, reports RLS Media. However, police had set a perimeter around the building which forced the rapper back inside.

After crisis negotiators joined law enforcement at the scene to encourage Tsu Surf to surrender peacefully, he turned himself in and was charged with racketeering.

Tsu Surf is being held at the Essex County Jail in Newark. He is expected to go before a judge in federal court in Newark sometime Friday.

The battle rapper’s arrest comes after rumors emerged earlier this month that he was arrested on RICO charges in a raid that saw multiple members of his Crip gang detained.

In another rap-related RICO case, Young Thug and Gunna could potentially remain behind bars a little longer if Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has her way.

The two rappers are currently in jail alongside 26 other YSL affiliates as part of an ongoing RICO case. Prosecutors are claiming that Thugga (real name Jeffery Lamar William) was the mastermind of an organized street gang, with crimes ranging from murder to drug dealing.

Last Thursday (October 6), Willis filed a 10-page motion asking for a two-month delay in the trial. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the DA made the request due to more than a quarter of those indicted not yet having legal representation.

The trial is due to begin on January 9, 2023, but Willis would like it postponed until March 27 to allow all defendants to get a lawyer.
