Veteran Singaporean rapper Akeem Jahat returns with his new single, “Tandoori,” on August 26, the first track off his much-awaited upcoming album set to arrive this year. The album’s release date and title has yet to be announced. It is also Akeem Jahat’s first English-language record, after being known as a prominent bilingual rapper in the region.

This is the rapper’s debut single under Singapore-based Cross Ratio Entertainment. He has been an independent artist for most of his career, with the record label being the artist’s first label since 1992.

“Tandoori” is described to showcase “the never-before-seen, quirky and cheeky side of Akeem’s music,” according to a press statement. The song will be released with a music video featuring original dance choreography from the rapper, which will premiere on YouTube tonight (August 26) at 9 PM.

“Tandoori” is also described as an “Eminem-inspired” track, while paying homage to the traditional South Asian chicken dish that was the inspiration behind the track’s title. Similar to Eminem’s alter ego Slim Shady, Akeem’s alter ego Robbin Hoodie makes an appearance in the release.
