Reports from the official arrest record state X, who is referred to in the report by his given name of Earl Simmons, approached a plain-clothes officer and asked for “30 powder and 15 weed.” Once Simmons provided the $45 to complete the transaction, he was arrested and booked at Miami-Dade County Jail.

In addition to the pending charges from Friday, DMX is currently on a $500 bond from the arrest on June 23. A trial for animal cruelty charges which were filed in Arizona in May is also being scheduled.

Last week’s arrests serve as a cap to a series of legal, financial and personal troubles DMX was hoping to end when he announced a partnership with Canadian online gaming company Bodog Entertainment in December of 2007. During his tenure at Def Jam, DMX established himself as a consistent critical and commercial success, while also appearing in several feature films. He sold over 14 million albums in the US, including …And Then There Was X, which has sold over 5 million copies to date. There have been no official statements issued by either DMX or his representatives since his two arrests last week.
