Meek Mill has parted ways with Roc Nation Management, according to Billboard. Meek has had ties to JAY-Z’s company since coming on board in 2012, where Kevin Durant associate Rich Kleiman served as his manager.

The Philly rhymer entered into a joint venture deal between his Dreamchasers label and Roc Nation in 2019. Now, Meek Mill’s existence has been scrubbed from all of the Roc’s artist and social media pages.

Trouble had been brewing in paradise when Meek voiced his frustrations with Roc Nation and his label, Atlantic Records, after he felt the promotion of his 2021 album Expensive Pain had been severely lacking. He also accused them of restricting his future releases.

“They didn’t put nothing into expensive pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions,” he tweeted in February. “How would can anybody survive that … most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies ‘I don’t.'”

Expensive Pain debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 95,000 total album-equivalent units sold in the first week.

Meek Mill hasn’t released a single in 2022 yet. Reps for Meek and Roc Nation did not return Billboard‘s request for comment on the story.
