According to published reports, Jim Jones is releasing a full-length documentary in August that will chronicle his life and career.

The True Jim Jones Documentary will cover the Harlem emcee’s youth as a student at a Catholic school, the birth and coming of age of he and Cam’ron’s famed Diplomats crew, and his current grind as an artist and executive.

“He’s the only guy that’s been consistent with this attitude like mine, where it’s like by any means necessary, business, business, business, the more work you give him, the more he embraces it,” said Damon Dash, who is a friend of Jones and serves as one of the film’s executive directors. “…He might even work harder than me.”

In addition to his career as a recording artist, Jones recently launched his Byrdgang Records imprint with Columbia Records.
