Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to five years and three months behind bars by a Florida judge on Wednesday (April 20).
Shiesty — born Lontrell Williams Jr. — previously plead guilty to conspiracy to possess firearms charges in January. As part of the plea deal, the prosecution agreed to recommend a maximum sentence of eight years behind bars, so all things considered, the “Back In Blood” rapper got off on the lighter side.
The federal charges stemmed from an October 2020 shooting in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida where Shiesty allegedly shot an individual in the butt after he and two others robbed a victim following a meet-up for marijuana and sneakers.
Following the sentencing, Pooh Shiesty fired off a message from federal prison that was posted to his Twitter account on Thursday (April 21) where he thanked his fans for their support and teased music on the way for later in April.

“THE BIGGEST.. I JUST WANNA THANK ALL MY LOVED ONES, SUPPORTERS, AND FANS FOR HOLDING ME DOWN DURING THESE HARD TIMES,” the 22-year-old wrote. “I WISH I COULD BE COMING HOME TO YALL TODAY BUT THIS COULDVE BEEN WAYYYY WORSE. I WILL BE BACK SOONER THAN YALL THINK! BUT MEANTIME NEW MUSIC DROP NEXT WEEK! BLRRRD!!!”
The judge granted Pooh Shiesty time served for the year he’s already spent incarcerated and he could be released after three and a half more years with good behavior.
“Listen, nobody’s happy to go to prison, but he was happy the judge listened to our argument, and the judge received the argument well. He was satisfied with the outcome,” his lawyer Bradford Cohen told Rolling Stone.“We’re happy with the decision of the court.”
