Nicki Minaj has been busy getting back in the studio to start off 2022. She headed back to Brooklyn to recruit drill rhymer Fivio Foreign for “We Go Up” in March and less than a month later the NYC natives are spinning the block for a gritty visual, which arrived on Tuesday (April 19).
Nicki pulled out the hot pink Lamborghini to race around the Big Apple while Fivio opted for the sour apple lime green sports car. They paid homage to their hometown making NYC look much more welcoming than the usual dark days the winter season brings.
Fivio used the momentum from “We Go Up” to help earn himself a Top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 with his B.I.B.L.E. album. As for Nicki, she’s collaborated with Lil Baby twice and Coi Leray to set the tone that she isn’t to be played with this year.
During her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden last week she confirmed that her fifth studio album would arrive before the summertime of this year.
I do know that it’s soon, and I do know that it’s a lot sooner than it’s ever been,” she said. “And I know that it’s coming this year. And I know that it’ll be out before the summertime.”

However, Nicki Minaj won’t let the Barbz off the hook just yet as she threatened to delay her album if the “We Go Up” video doesn’t do “what needs to be done” by whatever metric that might be.
“If y’all don’t do what needs to be done with the #WeGoUpVideo I will significantly and I DO mean significantly…delay the…the…the…oh what’s the word… oh! the album,” she wrote. “That’s right. *sighs* the album *devil wears Prada Meryl Streep voice*.”
