Trinidadian rapper Theophilus London claimed he “pressed” D.L. Hughley over comments the comedian made about Kanye West and their subsequent online feud. The alleged incident took place earlier this week as Hughley was dining at Nobu in Malibu. While both parties have different accounts of what actually went down, London isn’t backing down from his original comments.

On Tuesday (March 22), London shared an Instagram Story touching on the alleged altercation and revealed his inbox has been blowing up.

In a separate Instagram post, Theophilus London insinuated Hughley was simply chasing notoriety by sparring with Kanye West.

“Who is the current king of comedy?” he captioned the post. “Is it me?! Just to clear the air pls swipe. Regardless of my humor on what’s real or not this is the internet aka fast food entertainment. U can cancel a n***a, but u can’t cancel the culture. If you love me then I love you. The rest of y’all hop off my d*ck. DL don’t be using this [eggplant emoji] too much. U were a king in comedy! London also shared a text message he sent to Kanye West that read, “Just pulled up on this corn ball at Nobu told him to apologize on camera asap,” which is similar to what he said on his initial Instagram post.

“LMAO,” he wrote. “I TOLD HIM TO APOLOGIZE ON CAMERA FOR DOING THAT VLAD INTERVIEW AND HIS PEOPLE CALLED SECURITY.”

In a video clip, it looked like London tried to walk toward a dinner table where Hughley was sitting. Before London had a chance to speak, he was pushed away by security. He captioned that post, “I’M A GOOD BOY AND PEACE MAKER THO, JUST CAME TO BALL ON SOME FISH.”

But according to VladTV,Hughley was caught off guard by London’s account. He said there was a “brief” verbal exchange and nothing more.

The 59-year-old went on to explain he noticed London repeatedly walking by his table as he was eating dinner. When Hughley went to use the restroom, he encountered London taking a video of himself. London then asked, “What up OG?” before bringing up his feud with Kanye and telling him he needs to make it right. But Hughley fired back, “[Kanye West] supposed to clean it up.”

He said that’s where the conversation ended and Hughley went in to do his business. He also noted Nobu security intervened – not his own.

Kanye West went on a tirade earlier this month, targeting everyone from his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend Pete Davidson to Saturday Night Live guest writer Dave Sirus and Trevor Noah. His antics prompted Instagram to suspend his account for 24 hours for violating the platform’s policies on bullying and harassment. His performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards was also pulled.
