According to a representative for Scotland Yard, Amy Winehouse was arrested this afternoon (April 25) on suspicion of assault. The often troubled  24-year-old Grammy-winning artist voluntarily walked into a London police station for her interrogation.

The assault charge stems from a recent incident in the north London neighborhood of Camden earlier this week, when Winehouse allegedly punched a man in the street. Numerous other reports claim the singer allegedly head-butted another man who was trying to help her hail her a cab early Wednesday morning.

If convicted, Winehouse could be sentenced to six months behind bars.
