A Los Angeles judge is giving the green light to move forward with Lil Peep’s mother’s wrongful death lawsuit against her late song’s former management company First Access Entertainment.

According to Rolling Stone, Judge Teresa A. Beaudet ruled on Wednesday (February 16) that Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, “demonstrated a casual connection” when it came to the negligence shown by First Access Entertainment during her son’s 2017 drug overdose in Arizona.

Judge Beaudet believes that FAE could’ve done more to create a safer environment for Lil Peep.

“If you’re going to create an environment like that where drugs are flowing, and you’re providing it, and hey, you actually don’t have any life-saving device or any Narcan to help people who are going to have a problem with these drugs, it seems to me you are creating a very dangerous situation there,” the judge added.

Lil Peep’s co-manager Bryant “Chase” Ortega, meanwhile, escaped legally unscathed when he dodged negligence and wrongful death claims against him which were dropped by the courts.

The trial is reportedly slated to begin in March 2023 with both FAE and Peep’s tour manager Belinda Mercer taking on the suit.

Peep’s mother Liza Womack previously filed an expansive 372-page docket of evidence on January 28 prior to the scheduled hearing on FAE’s motion for summary judgment. The eye-opening evidence included text messages that Womack looked at as “inculpatory” involving Mercer and FAE.
