The Glow In The Dark tour (featuring Kanye West, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco) coming to Las Vegas Friday, April 25th at Red Rock Station Casinos was almost not to be. If many recall when the dates were released, the tour stop was canceled shortly after the Grammys due to reasons unknown. But just as everyone threw their arms up in disgust, the tour was all of a sudden back on again. What happened?
“At the time we booked the show, it was prior to the Grammy Awards and the show became bigger in scope and magnitude. The roof system we use at Red Rock was not big enough to accommodate the changes they made. At that point we had to cancel the show,” says Station Casinos’ VP of entertainment, Joe Santiago.
But while the Red Rock Stations can put on some pretty big shows, Kanye West’s show called for Red Rock to create a totally new venue just for this show.
“(Glow In The Dark) became a 15 truck arena show so we created a temporary venue to accommodate this show and that’s what we did,” he continues. “A huge video wall system, big production and, from a visual standpoint, it’s going to be phenomenal.”
If you still are looking for tickets for the Vegas area, they are still available as the event is expected to be at full capacity – 7500 people.
