T.I. had been speaking to high school students about staying out of trouble as part of his plea agreement on federal gun charges, but Pebblebrook High School in Cobb County has denied the rapper from appearing on their campus citing that “now is not a good time” according to channel 2 Action News in Atlanta.
Many in the community are outraged at the decision to keep the rapper away from schools and are demanding answers. A community activist was given the green light to bring T.I. to Pebblebrook only to receive a notice from the principle of the high school that T.I. was banned from speaking at all schools within Cobb County’s school district.
There have been reports that T.I. has been banned from all Cobb County schools saying “it’s not the best time due to gang problems and tension regarding the death of a student in the area”.
Teachers and students at Pebblebrook high school feel that this is the time when T.I. is needed the most to ease tension. Outside of Pebblebrook and Cobb County, schools in Fulton County have also banned the rapper from their schools because of the criminal charges he still faces.
