Reports surfaced earlier today stating that a book release party for Bruce Williams and Donnell Alexander‘s book, Rollin With Dre, turned violent and left one man dead Sunday morning in Tukwila, Washington. The reports say that an after party of the book’s release took place at a venue called Gordon’s On The Green and featured appearances by several unnamed celebrities. The party turned violent at roughly 2am as gunshots were fired and two men were struck. One man was pronounced dead, while the other is in critical condition.

But Bruce Williams states that the party had absolutely nothing to do with the release of his book, he just happened to be in attendance. HipHopDX caught up with Williams to get some clarification what transpired on Sunday evening.

“We got there at about 1:00am and it was packed with people (but) not one thing about Rollin with Dre on the wall,”Williams said to DX. “No one even got on the mic and said we were there.”

Williams explains that shots were fired after the party ended and he left for his hotel. He makes it clear to DX that this event had nothing to do with the release of his book and should not be presented as such.

Rollin With Dre: An Insider’s Tale of the Rise, Fall and Rebirth of West Coast Hip Hop was recently released via One World/Ballantine and recounts his life as Dr. Dre’s right hand man for over a decade.
