Though many have been awaiting a new album from M.O.P., the duo of Billy Danze and Lil Fame has another project in mind. Group member Billy Danze recently revealed that their next project in the works is not an album but rather a porn flick aptly titled Slammed. According to Billy, Slammed was so “rough” that they actually had to tone it down.
“It’s about when you catch a chick cheating and you can’t believe that you’re seeing your girl’s ass get busted…whatever….But we had to take some of the violence out though. It got a little too crazy,” revealed one-half of the group behind such hits as “Ante Up,” “Downtown Swinga ’96” and “Cold As Ice.”
As many may remember, M.O.P.‘s 1993 debut single was entitled “How About Some Hardcore?”…and it seems they have finally provided it in a literal sense. However, M.O.P. won’t be the first rappers to delve into the world of porn. Snoop Dogg, Lloyd Banks, OutKast, Lil Jon, Ray J and of course Luke have been involved in adult films to varying degrees of participation, either as financial partners or talent. The Roots have also enlisted teen adult film star Sasha Grey to star in their Rik Cordero-directed video for “Birthday Girl.”
At present, M.O.P. remains signed to G-Unit Records, although the group has released a number of independent projects billed as Mash Out Posse, most recently 2006’s Ghetto Warfare.
