On April 12, at Riekes Center For Human Enhancement, the Hip-Hop Chess Federation will host another workshop event open to the public. RZA, Rakaa Irriscience, Immortal Technique, DJ Q-Bert, T-K.A.S.H., Casual, Paris and others will join chess champion Josh Waitzkin at “Mind Over Matter.”
The event will run noon to 5pm, and is sponsored by Ubisoft and Chesspark.com. Workshops include a chess tournament grappling exhibitions and a discussion on martial arts used as non-violent strategy in life. Of the event, HHCF co-founder Adisa Banjoko told HipHopDX, “We are very excited to be able to get sponsorships to keep events like this happening regularly. People on the east coast should know that we plan to host some events out there before year’s end.”
