Cardi B woke up on Monday morning (November 1) to see her name being dragged through the mud once again on social media to kick off the new month.

She happened to hop on Instagram Live on Halloween night (October 31) after some trick or treating with baby Kulture, and she didn’t hold back when it came to giving her thoughts on today’s rappers and the music being played in strip clubs.

“I feel like we keep hearing the same song over and over again,” she said. “I feel like n-ggas nowadays making music with this beat that’s mad depressing. All these rappers nowadays wanna die. All of them. All of these n-ggas need to stop doing lean and smoking weed.

“That’s the thing with these rappers, they get money and start buying too much weed and too much lean and they make that slow shit. I want to turn up. I’m tired of hearing the same songs every time I go to the muthafuckin’ club. The club need me! The strippers need me!”

After seeing the blowback from rap fans the next morning, Cardi B attempted to extinguish the fire by clarifying her statement on Twitter. She explained she simply wants to see more of a balance between technical skills and turn up music in Hip Hop, naming Meek Mill and Tee Grizzley as perfect examples.

“I just want a balance sorry if I worded things wrong,” she wrote. “I just love music that drop hard and turn the club up like dreams & nightmare & First day out by tee grizzly. A perfect balance of rap and turn up.”

Outside of the Bronx bombshell’s latest move to set social media ablaze, Cardi B has also been tapped to host the upcoming 2021 American Music Awards on November 21. The award show will serve as her hosting debut in the space.
