Ice Cube Donates Thousands Of Masks As Pfizer CEO Issues New Variant Warning

With COVID-19 cases surging across the United States due to the Delta variant, there’s still a need for masks and other PPE to limit the spread of coronavirus. Ice Cube stepped up in partnership with Derrick Armstrong of 115 Management Inc. to donate over 2,000 masks to Bacone College in Oklahoma for the fall 2021 semester.

“We are so grateful today,” the college posted on Twitter. “Bacone received a donation of 2000 face masks for students from legendary rapper and actor @icecube and Derrick Armstrong of 115 Management. #maskupstaysafe #warriors #baconecollege.”

With masks being required in various social settings on campus the free masks will be available to all faculty and students.

“We are incredibly grateful to Ice Cube and Mr. Armstrong. This is a generous gift that comes at a time when this virus is experiencing a resurgence in our area,” college president Dr. Ferlin Clark said. “We are dedicated to keeping our students safe and healthy, and this will have a lasting impact on our efforts.”

According to The New York Times, Oklahoma recorded over 2,500 coronavirus cases on Wednesday (August 25), which matches November levels of positive tests in the state. 136 deaths were also recorded for the day.

With Delta variant cases creating hotspots across the country, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla is concerned a vaccine-resistant variant could soon emerge. Over 62 percent of adult Americans are fully vaccinated as of Tuesday (August 24).

“Every time that the variant appears in the world, our scientists are getting their hands around it,” Bourla told Fox News. “They are researching to see if this variant can escape the protection of our vaccine. We haven’t identified any yet but we believe that it is likely that one day, one of them will emerge.”

      2. Word, I’m hoping its a typo and at least it was 20k. Ice Cube is super rich, why even announce this small donation?

      1. My Dad’s friend that was in a five week coma, and flipped upside down repeatedly to have his lungs drained would disagree.

      2. Yeah say that to my family member who died from it. You idiots out there who think it’s fake are a disgrace to humanity. Fuck you!

        1. I think it’s time every human had no chance of dying ever, fingers crossed, you silly sausage
