VannDa has another hit on his hands.

The Cambodian hip hop superstar’s music video for his latest single, “Catch Me If You Can,” has been watched more than 1.8 million times as of writing. The heist-themed visual helmed by frequent collaborator, Jeremiah Overman of Turren Films, premiered last Friday, August 13.

In our exclusive interview with VannDa, he said that the concept for the video has been in the works since summer, but the song itself was only written and produced “in only five hours.” On the inspiration, he shared, “The reason that I created [the track’s] MV is because we got inspired by the film from my idol, Leonardo [DiCaprio], from stuff around me, from Cambodia, and everything, really.”

According to a press statement, “ADA Asia will work closely together with Baramey to increase opportunities for Cambodian artists through customized services – such as global music distribution, digital marketing and sync licensing – while expanding the global reach of Khmer music and culture around the world.”

Baramey’s roster includes hip hop duo Kmeng Khmer; founding member of the country’s “original music movement” Laura Mam; R&B singer Sophia Kao; and VannDa. Mam, who is also the label’s CEO and founder, said, “This deal is not only monumental for Cambodia’s music industry, it’ll also be transformational for Cambodian artists. When we started our company, distributing music outside of Cambodia was unheard of, and we’re excited that this partnership will enable us to amplify our team’s achievements.”
