25-year-old rapper Lil’ Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was indicted by a jury with one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Associated Press,Wayne pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Friday in Yuma, Arizona. His attorney, James Tilson indicated that the rapper’s tour would continued unchanged. Wayne currently has a March 7 court date for a status hearing.
Lil’ Wayne’s tour bus was stopped Jan. 22nd at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint near Dateland, Ariz. Federal agents found nearly four ounces of marijuana, over an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of Ecstasy and drug paraphernalia, according to authorities.
Authorities also found a .40-caliber pistol registered to Wayne, who has a concealed weapons permit in Florida.
