Know Thy Self Productions presents The 2008 Hip Hop For President Tour, a prime forum for opening dialogue between today’s youth and influential leaders within our Hip Hop community. The tour panelists, featuring M1 (of dead prez), radio host and activist Rosa Clemente, and many others beg the question of us: “How does Hip Hop expand the body politic, to include the issues that are most affecting our collective communities? How can we avoid the trappings of “Vote or Die”? How do we hold elected leadership accountable to the people, and how do we unite African-American, Latino, Asian and Native youth?”
Interactive lectures, performances and community dialogues are to include topics such as misogyny, Black and Brown unity, Hip Hop and immigration, redefining Blackness in the 21st century, as well as White kids in Hip Hop.

On Feb 26th, E-Dot and Darp Malone will join forces and release their first collaborative full length effort titled Hero. E-Dot (who may be best known for his collaborative efforts with the likes of Mr. Complex, The Chapter, Loer Velocity and dropped singles on Ill Bill’s Uncle Howie Records) felt the need to combine efforts with artist/producer, Darp Malone to deliver soulful ballads and aggressive compositions without abusing trends or propaganda to get their message to the masses. Darp Malone handles all the production on this venture while the likes of Loer Velocity, Verbal E from The Chapter, Wordsworth and others lend their lyrical chops to the album.
