Three years have passed since Grammy award winning rapper Missy Elliot released her sixth studio
album, The Cookbook.

With a reoccurring role in the latest Doritos’ ad campaign and a guest spot on Keyshia Cole’s hit “Let It Go”, Missy is planning a new album. Reuters reports that the untitled
album is set to release in May of this year.

Two songs have hit the airwaves (“Ching-A-Ling” and “Shake
Your Pom Pom”); both of which will feature on the Step Up 2 the Streets soundtrack as well as the new album.

Also sitting on a three year absence since her last release, Mariah Carey plans to release her follow up to 2005’s The Emancipation of Mimi.

The new album, titled That Chick, will feature guest appearances from the likes of Damian Marley (“OOC”) and T-Pain (“Migrate”). While will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri and Rodney Jerkins will handle the production.

According to Billboard, That Chick will have Mariah staying true to her proven success with pop songs, love ballads and club tracks. Only this time, she will be using her vocals on trying Jamaican patois (the aforementioned “OCC” with Damian Marley).

That Chick is set to hit stores April 1, 2008.
