Akon‘s court date to face misdemeanor endangerment and harassment charges has been postponed until March as requested by the singer’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman.

The aforementioned charges stem from an incident at Akon‘s Fishkill, New York performance last June when an audience member allegedly threw an object at him. Akon demanded for security to bring the teenage culprit to the stage, then reportedly lifted the fan over his shoulders and threw him back into the audience. The youth landed on another teenager, who later claimed she had been diagnosed with injuries including a concussion.

Akon (who pleaded not guilty to the charges in December) is now due back in court on March 5th. He is currently free of his own recognizance.
