Coi Leray is definitely one of Hip Hop’s early winners for the first half of 2021. The emerging star is enjoying her newfound success but being thrown into heated rap debates has her feeling uncomfortable. Benzino’s daughter fired off a couple of tweets on Friday morning (May 14) telling fans to keep her out of the female rapper conversations.

“I’m not a female rapper,” she clarified. “I’m a artist. Leave that rap competition shit for the rappers. I just want to make good music and have a good time.”

Leray isn’t about the competition aspect of rap, as she’d rather see everyone win with a chance to shine and showcase their different skillsets.

“It’s enough for everybody to eat get it how you live,” the Boston native wrote.

Thinking of goddess MCs, Coi Leray showed love to Nicki Minaj on Thursday (May 13) as she teased her return to music and Leray couldn’t stop thinking about Nicki’s super rare Richard Mille bubblegum watch.

“Nicki Minaj so bad,” the 24-year-old tweeted. “Nicki Pink Richard Mille is my new motivation for today. I can’t stop thinking about that damn watch.”

Nicki ended her retirement to upload her classic Beam Me Up Scotty 2009 mixtape to streaming services with a few new tracks for fans, including a Young Money reunion with Lil Wayne and Drake on “Seeing Green.”

Coi Leray is riding high in 2021 as an emerging star. Her breakthrough “No More Parties,” which features a remix with Lil Durk, is holding strong on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 51 in its 13th week invading the elusive chart.
