There has been an outpouring of love and support for DMX following the passing of the Hip Hop legend last Friday (April 9). Some of X’s family members including his ex-wife Tashera Simmons and daughter, Sasha, released heartfelt tributes to social media over the weekend.

“Nothing will ever explain how i feel, how this all feels. my twin, i love you,” the 19-year-old wrote. “There’s always been so many misconceptions about who the fuck you were but that didn’t matter because i knew who the fuck you were. eternally grateful to have had you. I love you forever dad.”

Sasha’s mother is DMX’s ex-partner Patricia Trejo. The Dog went viral on social media in 2016 when a tender video from Sasha’s quinceañera was posted showing the Yonkers native slow-dancing with his daughter in a pair of Timberland boots to some Luther Vandross.

Tashera Simmons couldn’t celebrate her own 50th birthday without properly paying tribute to her former husband (1998-2012) with a post celebrating DMX’s life.

“With much prayer, pulling. Crying and a roller coaster of emotions,” Simmons said. “I couldn’t bring myself to just celebrate and close the last 50yrs of my life with out celebrating the life of one of thee most important person in the world to me, my Ex-husband.”

Discussions for DMX’s memorial are reportedly being finalized and it could take place in X’s hometown of Yonkers at the Empire Casino raceway. DMX passed away on Friday following an alleged drug overdose which triggered a heart attack and left him in a coma and on life support for a week.
