Future is celebrating a huge milestone these days. As of Thursday (April 1), Future’s 2017 smash hit “Mask Off” has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify.

“Mask Off” is Future’s first solo song to cross the billion stream mark and sits right above his collaborative effort with Drake “Life Is Good” as his most-streamed single. “Mask Off” is the second single off Future’s platinum-selling No. 1 album FUTURE and the song also peaked at No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song became so popular it got an official remix with Kendrick Lamar in May 2017. Joyner Lucas and EDM DJ Marshmello also released their own remixes of the hit song that year. According to the RIAA, “Mask Off” went 8x-times platinum.

Future had an incredible year in 2017. The Freebandz boss unleashed FUTURE and HNDRXX within a week of each other, and both albums went No. 1. The rare feat made him the first artist to drop two chart-topping albums on the Billboard 200 chart in consecutive weeks.

Future Humbly Accepts IG Compliment His ‘HNDRXX’ Album Would’ve Blocked Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ From Historic Success

The Atlanta superstar received a huge compliment last month when a fan claimed if Future’s 2017 album HNDRXX came out in 1982, Michael Jackson wouldn’t have blown up into a star. Future reshared the hot take and left an appreciative response in his Instagram story.

“That’s a deep and one helluva compliment,” he wrote.
